I would agree, get body molding tape though, not standard store bought double sided tape. The stuff for mounting fender flares, or body side moldings is MUCH stronger than standard double sided tape, even the 3M stuff. You’ll be able to notice the difference when you try to peel the backing off it, it you don’t fight to get the backing off of it, you either got the wrong stuff or a really old bad roll.

One other trick that seems to help, once you apply the body molding tape take a heat gun and warm it up. It will make it extra sticky and really makes it stick that much better. Helps to warm the mounting surfaces as well, just don’t get it hot or burn the paint.
