SE Wisconsin | I watched several old machines leave the dealer where I worked in the 80’s towed out by the rear axle. Here’s how it’s done. Disconnect the steering cylinders. Attach something like a hitch off of a NH3 nurse tank centered on the rear axle. Put on a safety chain and go. You won’t be able to back up much but it’ll pull smooth. I pulled a dead 4400 about 20 miles home one time like this. It was a breeze.
