| Are there any limitations? Iowa first started with straight wall rules, 1.8” case length. A few old timers longer than that were grandfathered in, 45/70, .375 Winchester, .444 Marlin few examples. Then broadened to .35-.50 cal. Personally I don’t agree on the liberalization of allowed rifles. Especially semi auto with magazines larger than 5. There’s a reason iowa was a shotgun only state since inception of a Deer season. And there’s a whole lot less timber today than 1955. Iirc, Illinois restricts rifles to single shots in their recent rule change. About the only thing Illinois has gotten right over the last 25 years of ruining that once great state for its residents.
