I think you took his post wrongly but I can understand how it hits close sometimes. I don’t think he was alluding at all to your situation.
I think this is a good reminder that just because one doesn't INTEND to cause hurt doesn't mean that they didn't. As a foster and adoptive parent I'm reminded quite often how important it is to think about my words carefully. Despite the flaws of my children's birth parents, those people are still in some way a part of them and their identity.
Tomcat, I appreciate you for speaking up. I decided against a full on confrontational reply in the other thread because I didn't figure anyone would listen anyhow.
