SW Iowa | Specifics are probably going to depend on your auger, trap orientation of your trailer, and whether your unloading spot is wide open and flat vs limited positioning options. My farmstead wasn't exactly laid out for semi hauling so changing the angle of semi in relation to auger isn't really an option. My unload procedure is:
1) Park semi with front hopper positioned where it needs to be to unload; start auger tractor, swing hopper under, unload.
2) Move semi ahead, unload rear hopper
3) Back semi up to provide clearance; swing auger out, turn off tractor
4) Drive off
My hopper mover is hydraulic so I have to get out/in truck 3 times. It's not the handiest thing in the world but doesn't really take that long. I sure wouldn't spend a bunch of money changing a bunch of stuff for 4 loads a year. | |
