There’s always “open ready to flush” cows from “seed stock” breeders. Meaning she didn’t get bred when she was supposed to but her pedigree and EPDs means she’s too valuable to pound out. Word is there were a bunch of those cows floating around just prior to the whistle being blown on the lethal genetic defect scandal some years back.
