| My take on the issues we are seeing that differ from the conservative views I was raised by and adhere to is
The younger population (40 year old and down) have never lived thru tough times
Economically the US has been prosperous enough basic life needs and such have been easily met or been given to them
Lack of needs or struggle have changed mindsets
As such their kids are being raised the same
Farmers generally have to work and struggle in their life
Long hours, tough working conditions etc all contribute to one’s mindset
I never met a depression era person who was not thankful for what they had. Was generous with what they had and shared with those who had less
Adversity builds character
Lot to be gained from stacking small square bales in 100 heat, shoveling manure, walking beans and thawing waters in sub zero weather. All because it HAS TO BE DONE AND YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WILL DO IT
