I know lots of successful, well rounded people from single parent households. I’m not saying everything above is wrong, but I’d argue that one good parent beats two that aren’t worth a damn.
I think more boils down to the “village” there used to be like 7 guys I used to call on Father’s Day (several have passed away), they all had a hand in keeping me in line, to the point that I hated each of them at some point in time, but that “village” made me who I am today.
I’m not saying I’m perfect by any means, but I’d say that of everyone in my high school class, I’ve probably been the most successful financially.
And being from a single parent household isn’t what caused my marriage to fail. The person from a 2 parent household basically ended it. I’m not saying I was perfect by any means, but I would say I didn’t deserve how I was treated, so I left. | |
