SCWisconsin | SORRY for original OP diversion!
Kelly, I'm curious how / what you did to eliminate the fold box.
I didn't do any modifications electrically, only mechanical. I.E. the hitch cylinder that used to lift and lower tongue hitch, plus frame lock, is only a frame lock now.
One glitch I have never been able to rectify is drifting 'extension' of the lift/lock hitch cylinder. (Again only a frame lock now). I switched solenoid valves in main block, even replaced them as I recall. Had cylinder itself checked for internal leakage, (by a shop). nothing! So my final fix has been an addition of small ball valves plumbed directly into cylinder. Makes me have get off tractor for folding, but really not a big deal. Just a frustration. This planter did this when I purchased it. Hitch would start raising, and lock would unlock. Planter would start folding by shear pulling force by tractor. Blow oil out block pressure relief and of course eventually round off frame lock mechanism. Ball valves and resurfacing the lock mechanism have resolved this for years now. I even involved J.D. techs. They couldn't figure it out. Some how oil (before ball valves) would circulate from one side to the other in cylinder. Has to be back in main block. | |
