East of Broken Bow | Yes, in general you can tell the kids raised by single mothers are not as well adjusted as those in a dual parent household. There are exceptions of cours, some single moms raise great kids, some nuclear family parents raise hellions, but in general, yes kids of single parents are not as well adjusted. I will even go so far to say that on average, single dads do as well or better than single moms (again in general).
I can tell you firsthand as my girls are going through high school and college, around here single parent housholds make up maybe 1/4 of the families, but have at least 3/4 of the high school/college unwed pregnancies. I think that girls, if they don't have a male role model present, go looking for a male that will give them the 'love and support' they are craving. | |
