I was talking to a friend that just split up with a long term girlfriend (10-15 years) and was talking about using an online will to transfer his property to his kids.He had a will with his ex that also had POA and end of life decisions. Would an online will also have clauses to cancel the power of attorney ?
You mention, three different documents:
Will
POA
and what is sometimes called health care directive (HCA).
The will is in effect after death and usually can have a statement similar to 'I revoke all previous wills' for the purpose he has.
POA is usually only effective in the event of incapacitation, ends at death.
HCA, is usually for life ending procedures, ends at death.
All can (and should) be updated, using the source of his choice to facilitate. |
