The frame is what should be on the rest. The trigger guard essentially. I own and shoot on a regular basis 41,44,45,475,and 500 linebaugh revolvers. I generally shoot heavy for caliber bullets. 265 grain in the 41, 300 in the 44, 325 in the 45, 420 in the 475 and 500 in the 500. I dont typically shoot off the rest. Think about shooting a rifle, the barrel doesn't touch the rest or should not. The fore end is correct. Good luck
Wow, you’re a better man than me. Do you reduce the powder charge shooting those cannons? I wondered about the trigger guard. Closest backstop at the range I use is 35 yards. Woulda preferred it be 25 yards. This revolver will be taking the place of my bow, most shots from a tree stand in woods at 25 yards or less. Gonna make myself a makeshift target holder out of plywood and couple short 2x4’s, ground is too frozen to stick my target holders into. My full house loads were 300 grain sierras with max powder charge. (The round that blew my bag apart) I’d like to see these women mentioned above hit the target with that. Even the .41 has more recoil than I like at full power, shooting 210 xtp’s. I need something to get my hands elevated about 6” off the bench. I’ve seen single pistol rests at fleet farm, wondered if anybody had used them and liked it. Guess I’ll just use two hands on a rest of some type.
