| My parents gave me their earth stove insert and installed a gas unit in their fireplace some years ago. They like it, but sucker won’t run if the power is out. So it’s not good for an emergency. I’m sure you can get one with battery backup, theirs heats really well, but I’m not sure about cost. I’d rather feed sticks myself since it’s free, burnt half a cord so far this winter and may have set a record for cheapest electric bill in years last month! | |
