The frame is what should be on the rest. The trigger guard essentially. I own and shoot on a regular basis 41,44,45,475,and 500 linebaugh revolvers. I generally shoot heavy for caliber bullets. 265 grain in the 41, 300 in the 44, 325 in the 45, 420 in the 475 and 500 in the 500. I dont typically shoot off the rest. Think about shooting a rifle, the barrel doesn't touch the rest or should not. The fore end is correct. Good luck
