Wisconsin | Fume extractors with a hose rely on being mounted close to the welding to catch most of the smoke. That can work fine, but you don't need the HP of a woodworking dust collector if you can use larger ductwork for most of the run, or mount the blower closer to the welding so you have a shorter hose. Dust collectors are made to maintain a high velocity in smaller diameter to keep wood chips moving, different problem than welding fumes. | |
