Mohawk Indiana | Several years ago a church inherited a farm. They put it up for bid every other year.
We didn’t attend there but knew several people who did. It wasn’t advertised but the locals all knew about it.
We farmed it for four years and were then outbid.
A few years later some of the congregation decided that they should sell it to make a down payment on a building project that they couldn’t afford.
That church has had financial difficulties ever since. The church lost a lot of the long time families that had been attending there for generations.
What was intended to be a blessing ended up being a curse!
