Price it at Cat first, sometimes I get surprised, had to replace the front glass on a Deere excavator, was reasonable thru the dealer. Even had it in stock, apparently it was a common replacement part.
X2 when I used to work at the Cat dealer I heard about expensive parts all the time. Compare prices to Volvo construction or Komatsu or Cummins, all of a sudden Cat will seem much more reasonable. I remember doing an A/C compressor on a D6T, Cat charged $600 for the compressor. A few days later I put one on a Kubota side by side, $1700.
