Church I just left owned a 40. They farmed 20+ of it with volunteer work from farmers, donated seed and chem, and sold it all out of the field and put it in the missions fund.
20 years ago I sold chemicals to a church that owned an 80. Honestly don't remember what they did with the funds. Church members farmed it for the church.
