What kind of bagger are you using? Some types will somewhat process them as you fill. I would think ypur best results would be if you grind them up with the straw in a tmr first for uniformity and moisture. Thats what we do and makes a good average to test for feed value.

If you keep them dry and cool I have been surprised on a concrete pad that they last a long time without bagging.
