"Wow you think that Google satellite is accurate?"

I've found Google maps measuring system to be very, very close in measurements of the dimensions of buildings on our farm, silo diameters, 30 foot lengths of irrigation pipe, or any other item or known distance that you would want to measure looking from above. So yes, that distance from that mailbox to the center of that road is within a few inches of what it showed to be.

Do you have an estimate as to what the width of that combine outside-to-outside of those tires may be? I found pictures of Case IH combines that look like the accident combine. They have the same number of, and location pattern of lights on the cab, plus the same pattern of chains and flights in the front of the feeder house , same style of sheet metal on the sides and location and shape of hand rails where seen. Those combines are 7250 and 8250. Specs charts show both with 3.49 meters width. That equals 11.45 feet, but specs did not state tire size at that width. One could assume that a combine with duals or really wide singles could be more than 11.45 feet, possibly 2, 3 or even more. Which, if the combine was driven to avoid striking the mailbox, would definitely put left front wheel across center-line of road.
