I tried bale grazing and liked it. Only problem is I don't have the space to lay out a winter's worth so I put out hay every few days over the winter, more if we'll be gone. 3%/day of the total weight in the pasture works.

The JCB is a lot more comfortable in the winter than my open station 7610 NH. The tractor can carry two  bales but I don't mind making two trips with a heated cab on the JCB!
