Not sure how your basis usually is or reacts but in my area basis appreciation alone pays for storing it. I’ll attach my current bids. If you look -30 basis for all of 2026 and January of 2027 will probably be +10 also so that’s 40 cents in basis alone. If market rallies another 25 cents from October to January like it has this year you’re staring down the barrel of a 65 cent gain. Pretty good wages IMO. So here just not getting slammed at harvest with poor basis and drying charges more than pays for the bin. The added bonus of harvest timeliness is not really calculable and invaluable to me. Could possibly save hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue from hail storms, wind events, flooding, etc. we don’t really have a target in mind of when we pull the trigger. We sell when the need for cash flow arrives or when we see a good bump in the market.
