Calves are still $2200-$2400
Cost me about $745 to raise a calf
I have everything paid off.
So it doesn't take long to make it back in my eyes.
I'd rather buy them than raise them if you can get the quality you want.
Last yr is the screw up not buying them for $2675 to $3200.
It's going to be until 2027 until we can build anything and that's
if cattle producers start ponying up for breds.
I remember when cow pairs didn't crack $1000.....
We are in better times than that
Until we add 2-3 million cows to herd, things are going to be tight.
edit- your 4 yr old breds with good body score, feet, bags, disposition,
and if they calve within 30 days
would have brought $3800-4200 last week up here
