Winter arrived today. Much more snow farther north but 40 mph plus winds and falling temperatures after 50s a few days ago is tough on cows and calves. I put out a couple good hay bales with no rings in a spot sheltered from winds. Zero degrees F and more snow coming so right now have a to stoke those rumen furnaces. No need to comment on "wasting hay". Folks farther north have it tougher. I heard a report of 36" of snow in NE WI near the UP.
