Ne Colorado
This fall has been a ruff one with all the extra corn silage and earlage we did. Think we started Sept 6 and ran till last week. Crazy year and everything it’s a month behind. I generally raise 2-4 turkeys for fun, for my wife to “raise” and I’ll butcher them late October. That passed us on by. Well these knuckleheads are WAY too big for my scalding pot now. Think mine is a 18”x24” pot. I’m curious what some of you have for your butchering set ups??? I might have to use a stock tank with a fire under it or something. I’m wondering if those toms are 30+ pounds. Hens are regular size I’d say.

My system is usually to the Axe, then the scalding pot, pluck by hand, and then to my gutting table. All the years Iv done this Iv not had them this big. Hopefully won’t in the future. Somehow they ate 650# between the 4 of them.
