Alberta | Had one like the silver catcher on the top. The only thing it was good for was getting me run over by a bunch of angry cows when calves started bellering. I am not sure if this would work for everyone, but I use a wooden cane with some grip taped on the bottom with hockey tape like a hockey player tapes his stick but end.. I can catch them by the neck and flank them and they calves do not beller. I can control them by pulling them to my knees and steer them by twisting my wrist if I need to move them. If the herd is quit a lot of times I can walk around and catch a calf that is sucking or walking by it mother. I can usually catch them up to a couple or 3 weeks old, depending on how big and strong they get.
