TDEE, Total Daily Energy Expenditure, can be broken into three sections: basal metabolic rate BMR, thermic effect of food TEF, and activity thermogenesis. BMR is the minimum amount of energy your body needs to keep you alive and makes up the majority of TDEE. TEF is the energy you spend digesting your food. Activity thermogenesis is composed of two parts EAT which is energy burned during purposeful exercise and NEAT which is the energy you expend outside of doing purposeful exercise such as doing your work or standing up, sitting down, walking to the bathroom or typing on AgTalk. There is no magic way to lose weight; eat too much on the keto or carnivore or vegan or vegetarian or any diet and you will gain weight. | |
