Your comments are valid, my old catch is this design. And I used it successfully when needed for this many years.
Bought in the late 80's it had a clear vinyl cover not yellow. I bet the yellow hides the UV light inhibitor that mine lacks. A uv inhibitor would extend the life of the vinyl tubing.
