Big Ben - 11/24/2025 10:13
Fetv - 11/23/2025 15:41 TD15. Im sure some are but I could rent 4 times the acres that I put in solar with the solar rent….or I could just put it in the bank and earn 4%. But the bottom line is I’m not held hostage by thing out of my control like grain prices and input costs and weather. I have more options than I had before. Some farmers spit on improving their own operation and improving their financial situation. Mind boggling.
It must not be that mind boggling. Even you felt the need to add some qualifiers in your first reply.

What's mind boggling is that the OP posed the following question at the end of his post "What is a sustainable way to get us off the tit?"

And Fetv's answer is to switch from the right tit (farm subsidies) to the left tit (solar subsidies).   Not sure how that reduces dependency on govt subsidies.   Commercial solar is no where near being sustainable (economically) or practical without govt subsidies.

Even residential solar is unpractical without govt subsidies.
