| Interesting about the eye irritation. We do something similar but with grass alfalfa mix and don't seem to have that problem. But in a mix the alfalfa doesn't grow as tall or as thick a stem. Interestingly enough even though our fall pairs are in the best feed of the year they are really hitting some old grass and oat hay put in feeder trailers. Roll this stuff out when they are getting short of feed and they won't hardly lay on it. It seems sort of crazy to feed hay to cows belly deep in feed but I've come to the conclusion they want the dry matter to balance their diets and it has to help stretch the high quality standing feed. | |
