My salebarn buyers appreciate announced "weaned on the truck" over long time weaned but really 10 day - 2 weeks non bawlers.

They like 60 day weaned calves best. This year I've seen many sellers announce 30 day weaned sell well.


So, who has the integrity issue? It’s either The sale barn or the producer that said “long time weaned = 10-14 days”

10-14 days is when the ones with weak immune systems start to break….

High power Antibiotics are cheap compared to the 6-10% shrink/compensatory gain on bawling calves……
