This chart isn’t up to date for the year, but when shackle space utilization rates hit s in the low 80’s, any prudent business plan would look at either where a facility is not near enough to the available supply, or the most inefficient for whatever reason to be the one to shutter. The writing has been on the wall for a while. There’s plenty of shackle space in the industry to absorb the cattle that have normally been sent towards Lex.

It doesn’t have much at all with ‘trying to break the market’ as some try to rationalize.
