| I need to buy a tractor and am down to 2. A 2000 Massey 8270 with 4500 hours , Sisu engine and 18 speed power shift and a 2001 Case MX240 with 7500 hours with 18 speed power shift and the fuel system redone around 2000 hours ago.Both are more HP than I need. Pros for Massey is 1 owner compared to 3 for the Case. Both have good tires and are clean in and out. Pro for the Massey is 3000 less hours and $15,000.00 cheaper. I have good dealerships for both close by. The Con for the Massey is the valve cover is leaking on the engine ( typical for that engine from what I hear but do not know the cost to repair yet).
Pro for the Case is the tranny shifts much smoother than the Massey and the Cummins engine is the same as in my Case combine. TIA | |
