We do have central air, both downstairs & upstairs. We did have to run ductwork, in crawl space for downstairs & in the attic for the upstairs. Separate compressors for each floor so can control temps separately for each floor. Biggest drawback IMO for hot water heat is not being able to have a whole house humidifier. For that we have a large standalone for each floor which means having to manually fill the water. You wouldn’t think with hot water heat the humidity would get low but it does
