Great Lakes - 11/21/2025 16:14 Alot of farms my area in same boat , this year was average at best and last 2 years have terrible with soybean averages in the teens and corn well below 150 . I also am tired of the pick up and vacation home comments.Not everyone grows 75 bushel beans and 250 corn on average . This post wont go over well so go ahead and fire away


I would hope you’re not paying land prices and rents that are reflective of 250/75 yields.  

I fully understand crappy crops (prior to this year I was riding a pretty long string of crop insurance collections due to low yields for multiple reasons) but if you can’t survive on your crop insurance guarantee you need to figure out how to cut more costs.    It’s not the tax payers job to hand out ever more money.
