That completely false. The three highest per acre support commodity is peanuts, cotton and rice. Not exactly the base of many Americans diets. Don’t kid yourself it’s about money and lobbying by row crop farmers.
How do sugar beets compare? They wouldn’t even be grown in this country if not for government intervention.
What is the way forward?
