Cattle run needs to be long enough for guys to quit taking the low hanging fruit, meaning row crops and expand the herd. Not taking the slightly higher hanging fruit, feeding either.


Got to be guys that plant the grass for grazing and calving, put up the expensive fence etc. Giving up the easy seasonal chores like planting and harvesting, or the daily chores of feeding and dealing with the erratic hours.


Market wasn't high enough for literally anyone on here to raise baby calves to scale when they weren't.


If gas is high because of a lack of crude, adding more gas stations or refinery's do absolutely nothing. More wells are the only immediate answer.
