One thing that would help is if the Govt would actually enforce antitrust laws that are already on the books. It would help break up some of these large corporations that control our inputs. They can charge whatever they want, because they have little to no competition. They lobby Congress members for more bailout money to farmers to line their own pockets and farmers get the bad press. It's corporate welfare. Same with labor laws. How many big businesses can survive without cheap foreign labor? Why should seed be patented? If you buy the technology up front, you should be able to use it indefinitely ie...bin run seed. Why should foreign nations be able to be majority shareholders or even flat out own US land or companies? ie... Saudi Arabia, Smithfield , CNH, BPi . Should a religious organization be able to buy land and not pay tax on it? ie Mormon Church. Just a few things that at the very least should be investigated & looked into as to whether it's in the best interest of the county to continue down these paths, or make changes. Maybe the CBOT should be eliminated. Farmer sells his products for whatever price he wants just like any other business and no need for any assistance. Boy talk about a race down to the cheapest producer wins!
