If the crop insurance subsidy is reduced or eliminated, there will still be crop insurance, it would just be different. I’m sorry if someone is collecting on a loss year after year after year, their insurance SHOULD BE unaffordable.

The way forward is to be the low cost producer. 3 components I see there. A..Farming generational land gives an operation a leg up, no doubt….B. Better management and higher skill/ability. This includes farming practices that are more profitable or less than others. No different than any other occupation, some are better than others…..C. Non farm business money or off farm income infused into the farm. Land is a stable investment, it makes sense for money to seek it out.
