Only way to make some headway out of this mess is use our commodities here. We need 15% ethanol year ‘round. Use soy oil for fuel. That would be a start. Problem is eventually we will still over produce.
I read in a farm magazine we need to produce all of our food here. Only way to do that would have to have a lot of greenhouses. Not sure that’s feasible.
There’s probably not a lot of new land being torn out in most areas. There has been a lot of pastures broke out around here. It’s all highly erodible. Limiting that would help a little. Not much.
We always talked about how many acres are being covered up with houses and solar panels, yet, we still have too much land and production. |
