northwest Missouri | You are correct US herd will keep shrinking. Any not well healed producer who either expanded or is feeding any cattle unhedged may not be in business next year. Timing is everything and it sucks. My bet is they will have a subsidy payment per head at somepoint if this crashes like I think it will. This will in turn make it worse and cattle become row crops as far as subsidies from here forward. No such thing as free market. The left doesn’t want farmers and Trump just wants you to be a peasant reliant on him. | |
