Rudolph, WI | Supply and demand. If food was scarce and people were dying of starvation, most would gladly pay $4000 for a bushel of corn. Probably a lot safer, cleaner, easier and just more fun to raise a semi load of corn than mine an ounce of gold. Doubt many farmers are switching to mining next year. Don't think the gov't subsidizes the mining industry the same as agriculture either. I understand what you are saying though, I think the price of gold is a bargain compared to the price of bitcoin, but appears plenty of people think otherwise. | |
