Grandpa spread on the snow. I mean deep enough he had trouble getting through.
He said that it would melt down to the ground, just like throwing salt on an icy side walk,.
I wouldn't go that far but I do think that potash on frozen ground will eventually get melted into the soil, assuming no big rain in a few weeks.
