A number of good reasons posted already

Bird flu
Hawk etc

Our feeders have been active with most of the usual winter birds.
We don't feed in the summer and feeders just went out in the last couple weeks
We also have had ground covered with snow so that encourages them to look for easy feed

I do have a bunch of sunflowers in garden that several birds have been harvesting for a while already Bluejays, finches, chickadees and I think even some cardinals

News this morning says there is a chicken barn with bird flu not far from me so will see if that impacts numbers going forward

A bunch of birds got killed when we had a hard extended freeze down South a few years ago
