Subject: Gluing down polystyrene foam board

East Central Arkansas
I have some polystyrene foam insulation I plan on lining the topside of a fold down stair case. There is enough room behind the steps to slip pieces of 1 inch foam board. Thinking I will probably need to glue it to help secure it some. Picked up a tube of the Gorilla brand construction adhesive. Says it's alright for foam board and looked like about the best choice from stores selection. Want really be holding much and only when stair is down.
Second question. Being this foam board will normally be facing the attic should I cover it with a thin plywood paneling or just leave uncovered.
Got to thinking about that staircase and that's a pretty good size area with no insulation. Also going to try and use a door weather strip kit to seal.
