 39.48, -82.98 | No ideas...but we aren't seeing nearly as many birds on our feeders as in years past. It seems to have started with the niger thistle seed we put out for finches. Few takers over the last three years. This year, it's all the food types we put out: sunflower seeds, suet, woodpecker block. We still have blackbirds (even though they should have migrated south by now), some bluejays, and a few nuthatches. Last winter, we would see four or five pairs of cardinals at once in the bushes around the feeders. This year, none so far. Something is definitely going on. | |
