I think I had heard that the replacement will be higher than the original bridge. That makes sense to me.  So, that is part of the increased cost.  And the price of materials is going up. And that is adding to the increased cost...

After the accident happened, I was looking at a map of the area.  I wondered why they didn't go further south and build a new port, so they didn't need to have the larger ships go the whole way up to Baltimore.  Put the port south of the Rte 50 bridge, and keep the larger ships south of that point. That sure would make sense to me.



Why, why, why would you want to apply some common sense to a government decision? After all, they are just spending government money.
