Well, most importantly, it depends on if you really do have the genetic disease called congential sucrase-isomaltase deficiency. This is the body's lacking of the enzyme to digest sucrose. If you do, in fact, have this, then the med Sucraid would likely be beneficial. If you were tested and found to have this, then, yes, that med can be effective. But if the doctor is just trialing it to see if it helps whatever symptom you may have reported, then it may or may not be effective or needed. I would follow up with the doctor and see what the actual test results were and tell him you're not seeing any difference in whatever it was that you told him was your problem and see if it can be discontinued.
