EC SD | TSLA is a meme stock - nothing there but hype really. Elon pumps it constantly and his fan boys pump it every day too. So much so that the price is about 10 fold of where it should be.
NVDA - you bought the dip right? This is the real deal. A company that is actually changing the world instead of just talking about it. A company making profits that are unprecedented and then continuing to grow that profit by 25% or more every year. No law of large numbers involved yet, just continued massive growth quarter after quarter. Someday it has to plateau out right? Maybe, but not in the next year or two. That rocket has plenty of fuel yet, so enjoy the ride higher!!!
Regarding how much a hypothetical purchase 15 years ago would be worth on various stocks -> I owned NFLX many years ago, tripled my investment in a short time, and sold it too soon. That is why very very few investors turn thousands into tens of millions on a single investment held for decade or more.
25 years ago, my experienced stock trading friend advised me to never sell out on a double, but just take out the original investment and hold the rest with a "never sell" status. I should have listened and I would have made tens of millions on AAPL, NFLX, etc. I can't even remember how many doubles I have had, and I sold them all instead of following that advice (NFLX was my only triple). My biggest investing regret is not following that advice! | |
