Subject: RE: Cataract surgery, multifocal lens, and Halos

Manitoba
I'm scheduled to have both eyes done in about 3 weeks. I've been quite near sighted most of my life. After consulting with the surgeon and my optometrist I've opted for a lens that gives distance and mid distance correction. Supposedly good enough for the car dash dash. Both Drs thought they were the best option. Their experience is that the people that got the more multi focal ones had halo effects and other issues. I will really miss that even at 66 I'm now able to do very fine and close work without glasses. But having good distance vision will be a good trade off.
